Rethinking Education is proud to host the 2008 conference at the wonderful Westin Park Central, located at 12720 Merit Drive, Dallas, TX 75251. This is our first year at the Westin and we're anxious for you to experience it!

We have an incredible overnight room rate of $89. A $30 upgrade to the Club Floor gives you a complimentary continental breakfast each day for each person in your room. In addition, suites are available for $169 and $219.

Rethinking Education will have access to 100% of the meeting room space at the Westin for our 2008 event, giving us so much room to play, organize and hold sessions. Imagine an entire hotel filled with unschooling families!

The Westin Park Central is conveniently located near downtown Dallas, as well as to numerous restaurants, and a huge city park for walking, jogging and playing. The city park has both a 3.5 and 5 mile walking trail, which may also be used for bicycling, rollerblading or skateboarding. It is very well maintained and we expect it to be busy each night with teens and kids playing lighted Ultimate Frisbee, capture the flag, etc. Adults will certainly enjoy early morning or evening walks there.

The Westin concierge offers complimentary shuttle service each day to within a 5 mile radius of the hotel, including the DART, Dallas' public transportation, restaurants, shopping and grocery store. Click here to see a list of excursion ideas for you if you come early or stay late.

The Westin's guest rooms and suites are beautifully designed. In addition to the Westin pool and workout facilities, Rethinking Education has contracted with the Landmark Sports Club inside the Westin to give all conference attendees complimentary access to their TWO hot tubs, plus racquetball and basketball courts all weekend. Basketballs and racquets are also available at no charge to RE registrants.

Westin invites you to join them for unwindSM...a westin evening ritual in the atrium setting of the Lobby Lounge on Thursday and Friday from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. End the day with flavors of the southwest. Enjoy a tableside demonstration of how to create the perfect straight-up Margarita, personally performed by the Lobby Lounge staff. And try a selection of their various salsas with a variety of chips.
